SM Entertainment’s new girl group f(x), consisting of members Sulli, Amber, Krystal, Victoria and Luna will make their first debut on September 2nd, 2009 at 5:00pm KST!

They will be showing off their fashion and music, as well as interact with fans and put on their first performance at the Seoul Samsung dong Fashion Center (삼성동 섬유센터)!

The event will last 1 hour, in which they will unveil their single LACHATA and the music video, as well as show off their special talents.

To support f(x), seniors Girls’ Generation and SHINee will be in attendance at this showcase of SM Entertainment’s newest girl group f(x)!

The faces of the members to SM Ent’s upcoming girlgroup f(x), set to debut in September, are revealed.

The group previously released their teaser video on 24th August, getting the attention from netizens. The group consists of Korean members Sulli, Luna, Krystal; American Chinese Amber, Victoria – the 5 members will form Asia pop dance group.

Also f(x) known to be a Mathematical function, like the variable x in the function, the members will show a variety of charms and talents not only in the Korea but also in the rest of Asia.

f stands for flower, and x stands for the XX chromosomes in females – they will be a feminine group like flowers, and will be the best Asia pop dance group being the hot icon of Asia.

I’m still on hiatus but this got me so excited that I just had to blog it.

SM Entertainment just released a teaser video of their newest girl group and I have to say, I’m loving them already! I’m not really sure if their name is f(x) or EFFECTS but the group is composed of:

Victoria Song (Chinese) – 1987
Amber (Chinese-American- the one with the boyish style) – 1992
Luna (Korean) – 1993
Choi Sulli (Korean) – 1994
Krystal Jung (Korean) -1994

Victoria, the leader, was the girl in SHINee‘s ‘Noona You’re So Pretty (Replay)’ MV. Of course we all know that Krystal is the younger sister of SNSD Jessica so I’m excited to see if she’s anything like the Ice Princess. People are saying she looks more like Yoona though. LOL. Also Amber is said to look like Super Junior Donghae. She’s the one with the boyish cut and a lot of people are getting confused with her gender coz she kinda looks like a guy in the video. I think I’m having a lesbian crush on her actually. LOL.Two members are Chinese so rumors has it that they might debut in China and not in Korea. Aww. Too bad.

A few months ago, talks of a female SHINee to debut this year circulated around the internet so I guess this video just confirmed it. I am not saying they’re the female version but they kinda have the same funky feel. Some were also saying that they’re like the girl version of 2PM. I guess because they’re quite toned and they have that sexy aura especially in the beginning of the video when they were all wearing black leathers. HOTNESS! I am so looking forward to seeing more of them this coming days!

SM Entertainment has released their official stand on the case.

They said on 1st August morning, “It is true that Xiah, Hero and Micky made the application for provisional disposition to terminate the exclusive rights effects from their contract on 31st July at the district court. With that the company is very taken back by the action, we are trying to get confirm all the truth from them currently. “

They continued, “But as a representative group to the country and to Asia, our stand is that activities for Dong Bang Shin Ki have to continue even with this disposition application. And about the problems arising from the discussion to do a cosmetic entreprise, we plan to talk over them and sort out the problems as soon as possible.”

It has been know that members YunHo and ChangMin has decided not to take part in this lawsuit. Both of them are currently preparing for their drama debut this September and year-end.

Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun did request a disposition (note: not a lawsuit yet) asking SM to release them from their contracts. Yunho and Changmin aren’t involved. This isn’t just a rumour, it’s FACT. What remains a rumour is DBSK breaking up, although if the three win (which they are very likely to – read below) then it is a possibility. ‘DBSK‘ and ‘DBSK Disposition’ are hot issues on Korean portal sites right now and articles keep being uploaded, and it looks like SM is removing old posts by the members on their official website.

Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun’s side of the story (straight from the mouth of the lawyer representing them):

• The three members and the lawyer have been in contact discussing this issue for over 2 months now.
• They tried to negotiate a deal with SM Entertainment to resolve this issue in the best way possible but they could not reach an agreement.
• Therefore, they were forced to request a provisional disposition on the 31st against SM Entertainment to have them released from their contracts.
• The main reasons for them wanting to be released from their contracts include the fact that their contracts were basically like slave contracts.
• Their contracts were for 13 years.
• Their earnings are split 8:2 or 9:1 (with the smaller numbers being the five members and the larger numbers being SM Entertainment. For comparison, JYP Entertainment splits 5:5 with their groups even the new ones.).
• *Other reasons being mentioned, though not by the lawyer, include the members being overworked and SM Entertainment not being happy with the make up business the three started with their parents.
• If SM Entertainment does not release them from their contracts, they are prepared to file a lawsuit and go to trial.
• An official statement regarding this issue will be released by the three members soon.

SM’s side of the story (straight from the mouth of their representatives):

• They admit that there has been some disagreement between them and DBSK recently but they are ‘shocked’ that DBSK took the issue to court.
• They are currently having an emergency meeting and will release an official statement soon.

While DBSK probably makes the most money in SM Entertainment, don’t think for a second that SM Entertainment is smart enough to keep them. Look at H.O.T. (LSM denied they were breaking up when articles began to appear about them breaking up just like they are now about DBSK; a few days later H.O.T. announced they were breaking up) and Shinhwa (SM only wanted to negotiate new contracts with two of the members; they are amazing for being able to leave SM Entertainment TOGETHER and buy the name Shinhwa from SM Entertainment).

On the other hand, note that the three asked to be released from their current contracts. This doesn’t necessarily mean that DBSK are breaking up or that the members are leaving SM Entertainment (they could sign new contracts).

The only thing you can be sure of is the fact that the three members are not happy with their current contracts and would like to be released from them.

One of Asia’s biggest group Dong Bang Shin Ki, has 3 of its members in a possible lawsuit against their own company SM Entertainment.

Dong Bang Shin Ki members Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun and Hero JaeJoong had gone to Seoul Central District Court to hand in an application for provisional disposition to terminate all effects of their exclusive belonging rights contract with SM on 31st July.

It has been known that their reasons for doing so is that the contract with SM Entertainment has many irrelevant conditions attached. It is also known that the content to the contract the 3 members cannot agree to includes having them belonging exclusively to SM Entertainment for 13 years and also unhappiness over profit allocation.

The lawyer responsible for this case said, “We are currently preparing for a lawsuit against SM for this contract. (About the reasons to why) We cannot reveal the details now.”

There has also been saying that the 3 members have differing views to SM on their upcoming ‘Dong Bang Shin Ki cosmetic enterprise expansion’.

Currently out of the 3 members, JunSu is already doing a cosmetic business with his parents. It is said that there were plans for the company to operate a cosmetic business, with sheep placenta as the main ingredient, using the group’s name as the brand name in Seoul GangNam and GyeongGiDo IlSan. It is said that there were also plans for the business to be launched in China bringing in hundreds millions KRW in profit.

But it has been said that the 2 sides are having some differing views and also complications arose through their discussion on how the product and brand will go.

One of the Korean new media has known through phone call from SM and SM said, “We are aware that some of the DBSK members have some disagreements with the company, but we do not know that they have sparked a lawsuit with the company. The director board of the company is currently having an urgent meeting in an undisclosed place in Seoul to discuss about their countermeasures.”

They also added, “We will have our official stand asap”.

Korean fans are in chaos right now! I, myself, am having a hard time digesting this news. I was hoping this was all a rumor but SM released a statement so I guess that pretty much confirms it. I know I shouldn’t panic but this is just simply terrifying. Accordingly, Yunho and Changmin intend to stay with SM so it ‘s highly possible that DBSK might DISBAND! God I hope not!

Let’s all pray they’ll be able to resolve this. And let’s try not panic until we hear the official statements. God what a mess!

The annual SM Entertainment extravaganza, SMTOWN Live 09 has been confirmed for 16th August at Seoul’s Jamshil stadium, starting from 5pm and ending at 10 at night.

Other than BoA who is busy in America (no CSJH either), all other artistes under the SM label like TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Zhang Li Yin, SHINee plus special guests (not revealed yet) will be entertaining fans throughout the night.

A SM Entertainment representative said, “This is a concert that’s highly anticipated by fans in Korea and the whole of Asia. All sorts of interesting performances by each group and individual artistes have been planned and can only be seen at SMTOWN Live 09. In addition, we have also prepared for special guest performers on that day.”

☆ Last year’s “SHINee Yunhanam” was really entertaining. (laughs) Honestly, it was real, right?
Jonghyun: Yes, of course it was real. The production team allowed us to freely do what we want; they only controlled the cameras.
Onew: They only told us to “Please use this way to initiate”.
Minho: When we first started, we had no idea what to do. So for the first episode, we followed what the writer told us to do.
Jonghyun: Yes, but when the first episode came out, we said, “It shouldn’t be like this”. So the members gathered together – we even had a meeting – and from then on, we decided to show our true selves. So towards the end of the series, it became more meaningful.

☆ When fighting to be the “noona’s” choice, was there any fighting?
Everyone: Of course not. (laughs)
Onew: The one that was chosen would go on the date. The rest of us were together and still had fun.
Jonghyun: We also made many memories together. Of course, we also had fun with the noona. (laughs)

☆ After this kind of “on-camera dating”, one must want a real date. What are the dream dates of each member?
Onew: Bungee jumping.
Jonghyun: So the both of you would jump down together?
Onew: You can do that? Ah, then it should be that way. There’s also flying boat, scuba diving, and rock climbing!
Jonghyun: You might as well go into the universe. (laughs)

☆ Things that you want to do with the girl you like.
Jonghyun: It’s very difficult. (laughs)
Key: I…well…shopping? After seeing/meeting each other, we can talk comfortably to each other. We can watch performances….time to relax and space would also be nice.
Jonghyun: I want to turn off our cellphones after meeting up with each other and ride on the public bus together to the final stop.
Key: Why turn off your cellphones?
Jonghyun: So that we won’t be distracted/annoyed. And not on the subway because you can’t see outside; it’s suffocating.
Everyone: Oh~ so nice!
Jonghyun: Ah, I’m a true pro! (laughs)
Taemin: I want to go on many vacations. I also want to go to foreign countries & play at amusement parks.
Key: Then you must wear sunscreen.
Taemin: I also want to go to the theater to watch movies. And to go to the seaside.
Minho: I also want to go to the theater. Although this is very common for normal couples, I’ve never experienced it before. We can go shopping together, each dinner. And my favorite sport – it may be too tiring, so we can just go watch baseball or soccer games together. Recently, there are many sporting events.
Jonghyun: Yeah, and when your team wins, you can kiss. (laughs)
Minho: If we really won, then the atmosphere might be so that I have to kiss the girl no matter what. (laughs)

☆ Like Minho’s favorite game “Winning Eleven”, how about playing together?
Minho: I also want to play it…
Onew: It might not be very good if Minho’s girlfriend played “Winning Eleven” with him. They might fight! Minho’s competitive-ness is very strong. (laughs)
Minho: Of course I wouldn’t treat my girlfriend the same way.
Everyone: Oh~!
Key: We can only know when he finally meets her.
Jonghyun: Yeah, we can only know after he gets a girlfriend. Minho is only saying this because he’s never experienced it/had a girlfriend before. (laughs)

☆ After revealing SHINee‘s dorm, it became a hot topic. I can’t believe that the home of 5 guys can be that neat. Usually…
Onew: We usually are that neat!
Jonghyun: The reason why is because no one is really messy. When we finish using something, we know where to put it back.

☆ Everyone sleeps in one room; the positioning of the beds are also really unique. How did you decide on who sleeps where?
Jonghyun: There wasn’t any method that we used to decide. We just chose whichever bed we wanted.
Onew: All five of us chose.
Jonghyun: There are two bunk beds, so the ones who wanted a bunk bed didn’t have to fight. Why? Because in the beginning, everyone thought that any bed would be okay. (laughs)

☆ What would you do in the dorms?
Jonghyun: Our lifestyle is really unique, and everyone’s interests/hobbies are different.
Onew: Really different.
Jonghyun: Minho really likes reading and reading books related to sports. He would also go online to watch sports games/tournaments and play soccer games.
Key: Minho really reads a lot of books.
Jonghyun: (looks at Taemin) So what does Taemin do?
Onew: He probably reads THJ’s script. (laughs)
Key: Up until he goes to sleep, he is really always practicing his lines.
Jonghyun: I would listen to music and write lyrics.
Key: I would also listen to music. I also like watching movies and taking pictures.
Jonghyun: At the top of Key’s bed, he hangs the pictures on a line.

☆ And Onew?
Onew: I like listening to quiet songs. If I’m lying down and listening to the songs, then I would fall asleep. (laughs) I think that taking care of your body is the most important thing, so I relax a lot.

☆ I heard that Minho really likes “Slam Dunk” (manga series).
Minho: Ah, yeah.
Jonghyun: Because he is a fiery/flaming boy (laughs)
Onew: It’s Hisashi Mitsui (Slam Dunk character).
Jonghyun: He even has “I am a man that will never give up” written on his cellphone. He also has Hisashi Mitsui’s picture in there.
Key: Oh, it has a lot of feel.
Jonghyun: Why…really? It has a really manly feel.
Key: Yeah, I like shopping. (laughs)
Minho: I started watching “Slam Dunk” in elementary school. This time, fans gave it to me as a gift, so I re-read it.

☆ Finally, what does “SHINee” mean to you?
Jonghyun: It is a “beginning”. From having dreams of wanting to become a singer, SHINee was formed. Through SHINee, we will have many more ‘beginnings’ in the future.
Onew: SHINee is…
Key: A lot of responsibility (?)
Onew: It is an “opportunity”. It was a really huge opportunity and it also gave us the chance to show new concepts to our fans.
Taemin: SHINee is “power/strength”. Members have always given me strength. Everyone on the staff is the same. They really give me a lot of strength. And it is because of that strength that I am able to work harder.
Key: I think it is a “dream”. It is what I’ve always hoped for, and in SHINee, many of my dreams came true. No matter what I do from now on, this experience has really taught/helped me a lot.
Jonghyun: To Minho, SHINee is a “flame”, right?
Key: Is it “soccer”? (laughs)
Minho: I think that SHINee is like “One Movie”
Everyone: Wow~! Oh~!
Jonghyun: It’s not just a movie, it’s “one” movie!
Minho: A movie can be meaningful, happy, and moving. There are many emotions in a movie. So once you say “SHINee“, I can really feel it. During the first TV performance after debut, I was really happy. When we won number one, I was really moved. SHINee‘s activities are played out as if we’re filming one movie.
Onew: Wow~ the ending is really good!
Jonghyun & Key: So handsome!
